About us

Working United, Like Family, For Every Child

The People (and Animals) Powering Smalltalk’s Mission

At Smalltalk Speech Therapy, we create a family-like atmosphere where children and families are welcomed as essential members of our “household.” Our approach is centered on providing personalized attention to each child, ensuring their progress is regularly discussed and nurtured by our entire dedicated team, even if they regularly see just one therapist. We are committed to discussing, researching, and implementing the best possible care for every child who joins our Smalltalk family.

Meet all the members of our Smalltalk family below…

Hi there! πŸ‘‹

I’m Tanya, the heart behind Smalltalk. I was born and raised in New Mexico, and have degrees from both NMSU and UNM. I’ve dedicated over 15 years to speech therapy, driven by my love for helping others in our local community.

At Smalltalk, we create a welcoming space where every child and family feels valued, heard, and nurtured. We’re more than just a therapy center; we’re a community where your child’s individuality shines and where your family’s journey toward better communication is supported with care and joy.

I am so excited to have our wonderful Smalltalk Family join you to bring out the best in your little one!

Hello, I’m Alaina, a clinical fellow at Smalltalk since 2023. Originally from Key West, Florida, I moved to Albuquerque in 2019. I hold a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of New Mexico. My passion for working with children led me to complete my clinical fellowship at Smalltalk, where I find immense fulfillment in contributing to the speech and language development of our clients.

Hi, I’m Sidney, a bilingual team member at Smalltalk, fluent in both Spanish and English. My diverse background in sales and marketing, particularly in the automotive and real estate industries, has equipped me with unique skills that I bring to Smalltalk. Passionate about helping others, I am excited to support families in finding the best speech therapy services for their needs. When I’m not at Smalltalk, I enjoy weightlifting and working on car projects with my dad.

Woof! 🐾

I’m Duckie, the dashing Dachshund and proud mascot of Smalltalk. Ever since I was a tiny puppy, I’ve been spreading joy and fun at the clinic. I adore getting belly rubs and playing chase with all the wonderful kids here. You can often find me wagging my tail for treats and enjoying gentle pats. I’m not just a mascot; I’m a furry friend to everyone at Smalltalk, bringing smiles and comfort every day!
